Description

Well it's officially been one month that I've been painting now, and to celebrate I figured I'd try a portrait :) I think it turned out interestingly, but let me know what you guys think! Critiques would be especially helpful on this one because I know it's very hard to see your own mistakes when portrait painting.

16 x 20 x 1.5 Acrylic on canvas

Leave your ideas for things you'd like to see painted below!
It's getting hard to think of something new every day and I'd like to paint more of what you guys like :D

The vibrance of the background is striking -- bringing the contrasts of her dark hair, and pale face, to life.

Very creative in giving the viewer the feel of a woodsy being by use of antlers made out of tree branches. I like the (mossy) looking patch beneath her cheek bone -- unearthly!

You did a wonderful job with her stringy, matted, almost moist, hair!
Most of all, I think the way you created her face is beautiful. As said, she is very pale, yet there still color in her features. The shadow around her eyes creates this eeriness of eternal beauty, while her barely parted lips emit a faint sensuous aura.

Oh, I just want to say that I love the fact that you gave her freckles! For some reason, not many folks think freckles are pretty, yet, they really are.
Well, keep up the fine work!
